What colors are available for HIREC?
*We may not be able to fulfill all requests. HIREC450 cannot be color-matched.
None of the HIREC coatings are transparent, so they are not suitable for applications where visibility of the painted object is required, such as signs and billboards.
What is its lifespan?
For indoor use, we recommend HIREC450, but it does not have a photocatalytic effect, so the duration of its water repellency will vary greatly depending on the level of pollution in the air.
*This is the expected duration based on our recommended film thickness (approximately 30 μm). The duration of water repellency varies depending on the usage environment, etc., so we cannot guarantee the duration of performance.
Is the painting method the same as for general paints?
Therefore, we require first-time HIREC customers to attend a painting training course (for a fee). Since the painting training is conducted exclusively for each customer, we will arrange the date, time, and location to suit your needs.
If you are unable to attend the course for any reason, please contact us.
Are there any surfaces that cannot be painted with HIREC?
(In some cases, a three-layer specification using a dedicated epoxy primer (HIREC undercoat EP) + urethane primer + HIREC-R is also possible.)
If you can paint with this primer, you can paint with HIREC.
In particular, when applying to surfaces with one-component coatings that have poor resistance to strong solvents (such as lacquer-based coatings), surfaces with water-based or weak-solvent coatings, or materials such as ABS, PPE, PET, and PC, we recommend that you test a test piece or an inconspicuous area by wiping it with primer thinner to confirm that no softening, shrinkage, or peeling occurs.
If you send us a test piece up to approximately A4 size, we will paint it free of charge and provide advice on whether or not painting is feasible. Please feel free to use this service.
Please note that HIREC painted surfaces are extremely slippery, so please refrain from painting them on roads, roofs, or other areas where people walk.
Are there any other effects besides water?
I'd like to paint it on an antenna; is it suitable?
Therefore, HIREC is used to prevent the formation of a water film by applying it as a coating.
While there are methods to melt snow using heated antennas, our experiments have shown that the melted snow creates a water film, which does not prevent radio wave attenuation.
When is the best time to paint?
Are there any precautions to take after applying HIREC?
When packaging or setting up painted items, please take care to ensure that packaging materials or equipment do not rub against the painted surface.
Additionally, we offer HIREC, a spray-type repair material, for partial repairs in case the paint film peels off.
