PFAS (fluorocarbon-based synthetic agents) have been widely used in many industries for many years due to their high chemical stability and excellent water repellency.
However, in recent years, concerns have arisen about its long-term persistence in the natural environment and human body, and discussions on regulation are underway internationally.
Features
- Fluorine-free water repellency paint that complies with PFAS regulations
-
The initial contact angle of water is over 150 degrees (super water repellency equivalent to other HIREC series)
- We offer both a water-based product (HIREC PFW9) that is easy to handle, store, and transport, and a solvent-based product (HIREC PFS10) that dries quickly and is highly durable.
- Effective in reducing the adhesion of not only water and rain but also snow and ice
- Compared to conventional HIREC (HIREC450), light transmittance has been significantly improved (visible light transmittance increased from approximately 5% to approximately 40%).

*1 Light transmittance is the transmittance in the visible light range when painted at our recommended film thickness (15 μm). It is not a guaranteed value.
*2 The self-cleaning function prevents the deterioration of water repellency due to the adhesion of dirt such as dust and dust in the air.
This is HIREC's unique self-cleaning function, which is included in the conventional HIREC-R, HIREC-RAS, and HIREC300-W.
*3 Packaging may change in the future.

HIREC's new option
There are many unknowns about the effects of PFAS on the human body and the environment, and much discussion is taking place around the world. HIREC PFW9 and HIREC PFS10 were developed as the first products to quickly meet the needs of customers who are concerned about PFAS.
We will continue to strive to create better products to meet a variety of demands.
