water repellency of plastics deteriorated by ultraviolet light
FRP (fiber-reinforced plastic) is a lightweight yet strong material used in antennas and other applications.
When new, it repels water to varying degrees, as shown in the picture below.
However, after being left outdoors for a year, the material deteriorates due to ultraviolet rays, which not only reduces its water-repellent properties but also causes it to absorb water.
This type of material degradation occurs not only in FRP but also in various other materials such as paint films, and the longer the outdoor installation period, the more likely a water film is to form.
That's where super hydrophobic coating HIREC comes in!
By applying the super water-repellent material HIREC, Super hydrophobic-repellent performance can be maintained for a long period of time.

New FRP (fiber-reinforced plastic) is relatively water-repellent, and a water film is less likely to form on its surface.

[Water-repellent, untreated]
The material surface deteriorates due to ultraviolet rays and other factors, leading to water absorption and the formation of a water film.

Top coat: HIREC100
Primer: HIREC Primer UP-S
When HIREC is applied to deteriorated FRP...
Due to HIREC's water-repellent properties, no water film is formed on the surface.
Even materials that have deteriorated and lost their water-repellent properties can regain their water-repellent effect by applying HIREC.
*HIREC100 is the predecessor to HIREC-R. The performance of both products is equivalent.
