Robotic Fiber Switch
Would you like to have a robot do the troublesome patch panel wiring change?

ROME
ROME (Robotic Optical Management Engine) is an L1 switch that realizes wiring switching between devices by reconnecting optical cables with robots.
It enables smart operation such as topology change in the lab and wiring switching in the data center.
It is a trump card for remote operation when movement is restricted.

Overview
ROME is a switch that enables rewiring between devices by using robots to reconnect optical cables. Compared to MEMS and OEO methods, it has less impact from increased insertion loss and maintains connection status even during power outages.

Elegant wiring
Manual wiring switching tends to make cable routing complicated. Since the ROME500 performs wiring switching inside the device, the wiring around the patch panel becomes orderly. In addition, since the robot performs wiring switching, accidents due to human error can be prevented.
Reduced wiring management effort
Wiring can be switched only by authorized users, and since the work history is recorded, security is improved.
Remote work
Wiring can be switched remotely. There is no need to enter the data center or lab. It is possible to switch wiring in a long distance, enabling cost- and environment-friendly system operation.
